Plans for a new ring road in the southwest will be officially unveiled to the public tomorrow.

But it will still be a long time before commuters will actually travel that road.

Before construction even begins, a land deal has to be signed between the province and the Tsuu T'ina nation, and after that Ottawa has to give its blessing.

Once that is all complete, funding still needs to be secured.  At the moment, the price tag is well over a billion dollars for some 20 kilometres of freeway, with up to 14 interchanges.

Open houses on the plan will be held at the North Glenmore Park Community Association on Wednesday and Thursday.
