The CHR disclosed to the public that the following conditions to exist in and about the above noted food establishment which are or may become injurious or dangerous to the public health or which might hinder the prevention or suppression of disease, namely:

 

a. High-risk foods such as whole duck, bean sprouts, and partially cooked beef are being stored out at room temperature.

 

b. Front barbeque hot holding unit is only able to maintain temperatures in the range of 40-50 degrees Celsius and is holding meat inside at unsafe temperatures.

 

c. Grease, food, dust, and dirt accumulation throughout premise. Unsanitary conditions exist throughout.

 

d. Recycling and garbage stored at the back door is not being handled in a proper manner attracting flies and other pests

 

e. Back screen entry door has visible gaps above and below it, allowing the possible entry of pests/vermin.

 

f. Areas throughout premises are unorganized and cluttered, preventing effective cleaning and pest control practices

 

g. Staff have little, if any, food safety knowledge and handle food in a manner that is unsafe.

 

h. Cleaning schedules are not posted or followed by staff.

 

i. Only two of the restaurant’s staff are certified in food safe. Due to large staff numbers and size of kitchen, more than two certified employees are needed to supervise.

 

j. Barbeque unit was in use during July 25 inspection which was in direct contravention of a restricted-use order given on June 16, 2006.
