Arnie Jackson
Hi again everyone:  this is Arnie Jackson with your rangeland derby chuck wagon report.

It’s Friday night at the stampede. That means just two nights of qualifying remain for the 36 outfits that are competing in this years million dollar rangeland derby. As a matter of fact one driver and his crew, Outriders, barn help, assistants, everyone that contributes to making their trip to Calgary a success will share in the top prize of $100,000. But you’ve still got to make the cut. Only the top four wagons after nine nights of racing will compete in the final dash for cash, in which the big pot of goal is at the end of the race track.

Heading into round eight tonight, high river’s  Jason glass is at the top of the leader board, followed closely by Mark Sutherland of Okotoks, Hugh Sinclair from Grande prairie and Kelly Sutherland, also out of Grande prairie. Just on the outside, looking in, as it were, is 6 times CPCA champion, brain Laboucanne from St. Wlaburg Saskatchewan. The personable veteran reignsman says he’s not really concerned about which heat he gets hooked in to, as long as he can run clean and fast!

Heading into round eight tonight, Laboucanne finds himself about a half a second out of fourth place and about 3 ½ seconds behind the aggregate leader, Jason Glass from High River.  With your rangeland derby chuck wagon report.
