Image 54 Gallery, Shelley Barrington established the Image 54 Gallery in October of 1982 as a poster and picture framing shop. The gallery evolved over the years to include more original artwork and regular solo exhibitions of artwork by Canadian artists. Today, the Image 54 Gallery is known as one of the few commercial galleries in Western Canada to specialize in Fine Art Prints and the promotion of printmakers. In 1999, the Image 54 Gallery hosted the exhibition and fundraiser of the University of Calgary Alumni Millennium Print Portfolio which helped raise $20,000 for printmaking scholarships at the University of Calgary.
